Lace Frontals vs. Closures

Closures and Frontals are the lace part of a wig, made to blend in with your skin and make the wig look as natural as possible. The main difference between the two is the size of the lace. Frontals cover the whole hairline, which gives you the freedom to try different parts and styles (e.g. middle part or side part). Closures only give you lace at the front of the hairline, usually about 4x4 inch of lace, meaning you can only do a middle part and there is less variety in styles you can do.
Lace Closure
Closures are perfect for those that like to stick to 1-2 styles and want to wear wigs on a daily basis. They are usually sold in size 4x4 or 5x5 inch. Closures are quick to install and can even be worn glueless without much work. This explains why closures are much more beginner-friendly than frontals. Furthermore, there is less friction on the hairline and edges, as closures require less adhesive or can even be worn glueless. Closures are also cheaper compared to lace frontals, making it the perfect protective hairstyle for beginners!

Lace Frontal
Lace frontals are more advanced, but also offer more versatility in terms of hairstyles. You can do a middle part, side part, ponytail, or even do flat twists/braids. Lace frontals appear more natural as it covers the whole hairline, and it often comes in the size of 13x4 or 13x6 inch. Most people install their lace front wigs using adhesive, but it can also be worn glueless. However, it should be noted that lace frontal wigs are more expensive than closure wigs, as they are more advanced and more lace is used to produce frontal wigs.
